Doris Irene Matthews

Doris Irene Matthews, age 84, of Leslie, Michigan passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan to Leonard and Irene (Lent) Marsh. Doris grew up in Jeddo, Michigan and graduated from Yale High School. This is where she met and then married the love of her life, Howard Matthews on February 27, 1960.

Doris was a busy person, especially raising four sons. Doris loved to travel and looked forward to family camping trips. She was an avid bowler and heavily involved in scouting. Her favorite hobbies were painting and sewing.

Doris is survived by her husband, Howard; her sons, Jeffery (Pamela) Matthews, Bryan (Sherri) Matthews, Bruce (Laurie) Matthews, Steven (Laurie) Matthews; eight grandchildren, Derrick (Vangie) Matthews, Drake Matthews, Dalton Matthews, Ashley Matthews, Brooke (James) Stevens, Emily Matthews, Zachariah Matthews, Benjamin Matthews; great grandson, Noah Stevens; her sister, Melinda (Larry) Maser. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Bernice (David) Maser; brothers Leonard (Georgina) Marsh and Fread Marsh.

A Memorial Service for Doris will be held on Friday, October 04, 2024 at 2pm at Eden United Brethren Church in Mason with visitation at the church beginning at 1pm. Reception immediately following the service on-site.
