Charles grew up in Caledonia, Michigan on a farm with his parents, Charles William Miller and Marjorie Marguerite Greenwald. He was the eldest of seven children and he started school in a one-room schoolhouse. He served in the Army Reserves after high school, then attended Bryan College in Tennessee on a cross-country running scholarship. After a year, he transferred to Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music College to be closer to home. It was here that Charles met his wife Elida, a fellow GRSBM student. He soon transferred to Michigan State University, and married Elida at age 25 on April 2, 1966. He was an avid researcher in bible prophecy and natural health and wellness.
Charles started his professional career in computer operations at Michigan State University. He retired as a Vice President of Computer Operations from Michigan National Bank. During his career, Charles was on the forefront of advancing software programs for banking security that set the foundation for many of the systems still used today. Upon retirement, he started researching natural healing supplements and began a natural health company where he ministered to many in need through his last days.
Charles is survived by his wife, Elida (Rivera) Miller; children, Charles William (Kelly) Miller III of Mason, MI, Alicia Renee Miller of Mason, MI, and Nicole Christine Miller of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren, Paul Stephen Berstler, Angelique Christine Bailey, Lily Renee Berstler, Chase Wyatt Miller, and Rose Marjorie Renee Berstler; siblings, Wendy Kay Southwell, Hollis (Richard) Ann Crumback, Shannon Elizabeth (Paul) Parnofiello, and Mark Eric Miller; he is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law, and friends. Charles was a deeply caring and steadfast husband and father to his family. He is remembered for his love of storytelling, gardening, and running. His family loved his mischievous and unique humor that was woven into all the life lessons he imparted. He is remembered for always being present for his family and those who needed help. Wherever Charles went, he left a lasting imprint on the lives of those he met. All three children carry on his entrepreneurialism with their own businesses and each of his lifelong interests will also continue through his children. His son, Charles and grandson Chase carry on his running legacy, daughter Alicia will continue his natural health and wellness legacy, and his youngest daughter, Nicole, will keep his bible prophecy legacy alive. Charles leaves behind a rich heritage of purpose, service, and selflessness for others, and his imprint was inspiring others to live a ministry driven life and to walk in their love for Jesus.
