Walter Alfred Taubeneck, 88, of Marysville, WA passed away, November 2nd 2012. Walter was born in Marysville, Washington February 10, 1924 to Albert W. and Alice E. Taubeneck. After graduating from Marysville High School he joined the U.S. Army. During WWII Walt served in Europe as well as Japan. Upon his return to Marysville he began a career in house and wooden boat building. In retirement he often built wooden boats for fun and profit. Walt was most active in Boy Scouts, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and the Marysville Historical Society. As a young man he hunted, fished, and hiked throughout the Cascades in the company of his father, uncles, and friends. He could name every peak and mountain, tell you who it was named for and why as well as tell a tale about time spent there. Walt's many donations to museums and historical societies have benefited history buffs world wide. He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Irene Taubeneck, his sister Mary Louise (Taubeneck) Hutchison and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and treasured friends. Walter is survived by his wife Lucille Taubeneck, children; John (Susan) Taubeneck of Seattle; Helen Taubeneck (Jack Bellersen) of Stanwood, and Lynn (Carla) Taubeneck of Fort Worth, Texas. He also leaves five grandchildren; Sarah Bellersen, Anna Bellersen Lee (Cameron), Crystal Taubeneck-Medrano (Chris), Allyster Taubeneck (Laetitia), and Melody Taubeneck. He also leaves three great grandchildren and many relatives.
