Raymond "Ray" was born February 23, 1925 in Everett, Washington, the eldest of eight children to Leona and Henry Rochon. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1943. Following his graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for two years in the South Pacific during World War II. Upon return to the United States he married his life's true love in Lorine "Dolly" Andersen, at his death they were married 62 years. Ray was a consummate entrepreneur and passionate dreamer starting many successful businesses throughout his life including the Copper Inn and Rochon's Timberline Cafe in Granite Falls, Washington. Ray will always be remembered for being a kind, gentle and generous family man, friend and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly; his daughters, Penny (Rex), Randi (Duane), Rita; and sons, Rocky, Scooter (Debbie); grandchildren, Travis, Ben (Amy), Ray'n (John), Sarah (Ryan), Hal (Ryan), Cy, Mackenzie and Henry; great-grandchildren, Brooklen, Paige, Jackson, Johna, Rees, Gavin, Avery, Peyton, Luca, Quinn; brothers, Leonard (Lena), Charlie (Mary), Ronald (Jo), Larry, Jimmy (Peg); and sisters, Mary (Tom) and Carol (Dennis).
Ray is preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Beverly, Yvette, Adeline; son-in-law, Larry; and nephew, Aaron.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville, Washington.
A Mass will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow.
