John Carney Cooper, born on May 3rd, 1943 in Renton, WA to Joseph and Lorraine Cooper, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 7th, 2017. John attended Mt. Rainier High School in Des Moines, WA and later went on to serve in the US Marine Corps Reserve as a Sergeant from 1963 – 1969. John married Nancy Jean Konen on June 6th, 1964. He worked for 27 years as a Teamster for the Local 741 Seattle, as well as Rubatino Refuse and Frontier Bank in Everett, WA. John loved family gatherings, fishing, camping, bowling, working on wood projects, music, playing guitar, and western movies. Hopalong Cassidy and John Wayne were his heroes. He was also involved with the Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus in Seattle. John was a very kind and generous man who loved his life with family and friends. He loved being outdoors, spending time with his family, and of course, all of our family pets over the years.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lorraine Cooper and sister, Wihelmina Sizemore.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cooper; children, Geri Stephens, Darren M. (Janice) Cooper, and Doyle P. (Carol) Cooper; siblings, Sister Rosalie Cooper, Kathryn Sand, Colleen Abadia, J. Michael Cooper, Elizabeth James, Patricia Hart, and Rosalea Chadwick; grandchildren, Melinda West, Daniel West, Cristina Cooper, Nickolas Cooper, and Alex Cooper; and great-grandchild, Renny Navarro.
Our family would like to thank Laura and Paul Raica of Laura Raica Home Care for taking such special loving care of John the last few weeks of his life.
