Brian Noel Tate

Brian Noel Tate died on March 26, 2021, at Providence Hospital of Everett. He ended his life journey 64 years after having started from the very same building on December 25, 1956. He succumbed to an infection, passing hand in hand with his son and daughter, Blake and Leah. He reunited with his late wife, Cindy Tate, whom he married in 1979 and remained together with until her death in 2009.

Brian was raised by his parents Verne and Betty on a small hobby farm off Highway 92 in Lake Stevens. He had two older brothers, Roby and Danny. In 1975, Brian graduated from Lake Stevens High School, lettering in football and wrestling. Shortly after, he began working for Canyon Lumber. In 1987, he started his career as an electronic technician for Boeing and continued as an electrician with both commercial and defense divisions spanning 24 years.

Brian enjoyed water-skiing from the family cabin on Big lake, camping in Lake Chelan, and rocking out at concerts or even just at home with the music turned up to 11. His hobbies included restoring his '64 Corvair Spyder, hunting in Eastern Washington, and he made the best rhubarb-custard pie around. Brian, along with his wife, sister-in-law (Shelley) and brother-in-law (Terry) fanatically cheered on the Seahawks, all holding season tickets since the beginning of the Largent era.

Ultimately, Brian was a family man. On weekends, if he wasn't working overtime to provide, he was on a field or in a gym coaching and rooting on his kids. Above all, he sacrificed himself to God, striving to be his best version of husband and father. In 2011, Brian had a massive stroke rendering him severely disabled. He lived his remaining years at home in Lake Stevens in his son's care with his daughter-in-law, Jessica, and new grandson, Malachi. Even through his challenging final years, he remained joyfully positive, finding happiness in simpler things.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Verne and Betty Tate; wife, Cindy Tate; grandmother, Lucy Fay; aunt, Virginia Smith; sister-in-law, Suzie Tate; and father-in-law, Ken Williams.

Brian is survived by his brothers, Roby (Laurie) Tate and Danny Tate; son, Blake (Jessica) Tate; daughter, Leah (Kim) Whalen-Tate; nephew, Walker (Alyssa) Tate; cousins, Bob (Connie) Roberson and Dennis (Judy) Roberson; mother-in-law, Dee Anne Williams; father-in-law, Ben Zomok; sister-in-law, Shelly (Terry) Anderson; niece, Rachel (Mark) Amaya; and nephew, Ben Anderson.
