Jesse Warren Vipperman Sr.

Jesse Warren Vipperman, Sr., 93, of Ridgeway, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Patrick County, November 26, 1920 to Posey Elmer Vipperman, Sr. and Laura Underwood Vipperman. He was a graduate of VPI (Virginia Tech) and taught school in the Henry County Public School System for over 30 years. He also served in the Army and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles Madison Vipperman, Joseph Herman Vipperman, Raymond Adkins Vipperman, Calvin Vipperman and Willie Leon Vipperman; two sisters, Elva V. Fain and Dorothy V. Lyons.

Mr. Vipperman is survived by his wife of 74 years, Evelyn Martin Vipperman of the residence; two daughters, Phyllis Clifton and husband Charles, Judy Frazier and husband Joe; one son, Jesse W. (Jay) Vipperman, Jr., and wife Gloria Faye, all of Ridgeway; five grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nannie Ruth V. Terry, Annie Kate V. Roberts and Mary V. Boyd; one brother, Posey E. Vipperman, Jr.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 8, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville and other times at the residence.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway with Minister Joe Hall officiating.
