Garland E Light

Garland E Light, a kind-hearted, honest, Christian man, passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on May 23, 1940, to the late Bailey and Rosie Light. Garland was a cherished resident of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

In his early years, Garland worked as a handyman, cutting grass and pulling weeds. He was employed at the Martinsburg Veneer plant for three years; he then was employed security guard at the Musselman plant where he retired.

Garland had a deep love for gardening and enjoyed car rides through the countryside with his wife, Bonnie. He found joy in fishing and cherished the companionship of his beloved cats.

Garland is survived by one brother, Calvin Light; several nieces and nephews, including his niece, Dianne.

In addition to his parents, Garland is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie Light; 3 brothers, Bill, John and Norman Light; two sisters, Ethel Light and Pearl Mauck.

A visitation will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on December 10, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 10:30am at Rosedale Cemetery with Pastor Bob Miller officiating.
