Bev was the proud mother of 3 children and numerous grand & great grandchildren. Her children were her life. She spent her married life in Shepherdstown where she retired and owned a popular local tavern. But of all things, her most prized title was mother. Beverly regularly sacrificed her own needs for her children’s. She loved having the family children around and looked forward to summer trips with the family to Ocean City. And she was always prepared for a last-minute dinner or cookout for family or friends.
Beverly was a woman of faith, talking often about how her savior the Lord Jesus Christ had worked in her life. Her family was a constant focus of her prayers. She grew up in the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Martinsburg and later attended Galilean Baptist Church of Shepherdstown.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband John F. Dopson, her beloved nephew Wade Anthony “Tony” Hensler, her beloved grandson Andrew “Andy” Rainey and her close friend Irma Tyree.
Bev is survived by her dear sisters Carol Hensler, and Sharon Lynde, her adored sons Mike Rainey, David Rainey, and Stacy Dopson, as well as numerous grand and great grandchildren whom she cherished. She is also survived by her good friend Judy Skiles. And finally, she leaves behind her precious “MoMo”, a teacup yorkie who misses her dearly.
