He was born in Augusta, GA on August 10, 1946 to Ernest “EB” Satcher Jr and Elise Satcher.
Bill was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He was married to Willene Satcher for 38 years. Bill was a native of Augusta, GA graduating from Butler High School in 1964. After high school, he attended Clemson University graduating in 1968 with a Forestry degree. While attending Clemson, he was called to serve in the Army and proudly did so with the Rank of Captain.
Bill was an outstanding Developer and General Contractor in the CSRA for over 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to his Farm in Burke County. Flying his plane to see his beloved CLEMSON TIGERS on Saturday’s in Death Valley. Taking many trips with his wife and closest friends all over from Alaska to Australia and many more places. He loved his daily trips to Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, Lowes and Barnes & Nobles.
Bill was very humble, kind and generous man who will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Forest Hills Golf Association, Former Member of the Elf River Gold Club, Beech Mountain Gold Club & West Lake Country Club.
In addition to his wife, family members include his son, Wesley Satcher (Tabitha), stepdaughters, Alicia Bible (Chris) and Jennifer Craig; 7 grandchildren: Drew, Caitlyn, Libby, Adam, Elly, Emily and Annsley; sisters, Diana Ward (Ken), Earnie Herman (Dona), Emmalyn Dyches (Johnnie); His Beloved Great Dane Dabo; and his cat, Paisley and grand-dog, Drako; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, EB Satcher; Mother, Elisa Barnhart; brother, Jack Satcher and sister, Amelia Satcher.
Pallbearers will be Drew Bible, Libby Bible, Jim Burroughs, Travis Ward, Trevor Ward, Louis Roberson and Tommy Doherty. Honorary Pallbearers are Elly and Emily Satcher, Annsley Ouzts, Caitlyn and Adam Craig.
We would like to thank the 5N Staff of AU, Augusta Cancer Center and Sister-in-law, Fay Dixon for the care he received while battling his courageous disease.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home.
