Born in Livia, KY, he was the son of the late Aaron Thomas Ross and Geneva Belle Brown Ross. He had lived in Atlanta before moving to Martinez in 1987. Robert graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in mechanical engineering and received four patents regarding steel furnaces thermo dynamics. He served our country in the Navy during the Korean War. Robert enjoyed photography, wood crafts, and going to the YMCA.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Robert S. Ross, brother, Thomas Ross, sisters, Virginia Spinks, Margaret Sumner, Elsie Mae Ulrich. He is survived by his sons, Donald W. (Lorna) Ross, Las Vegas, NV; Richard H. (Judith) Ross, James Thomas (Stailey) Ross, John E. Ross, all of Atlanta; sisters, Marjorie McDonald, Becky Baerveldt, brother, Ellis Rae Ross, grandchildren, Weston Ross, Abigail Ross, Stewart (Tiffany) Ross, Colin Ross, and his dog Princess.
