James Keith "Jim" Branch entered into eternal rest on June 16th, 2021, at the age of 69. Born in Alma, GA, the only son of James and Mattie Branch. He grew up in Jackson, SC and later made Augusta, GA his home.
Jim, a Captain and fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, fulfilled his childhood dream of not only serving his country but also flying F-4 Phantom jets. An engineer by trade, he spent most of his business career in the Civil engineering and Geotechnical arenas. Since 1990, Jim has owned and operated Graves Construction Services, which by virtue of his diligence to hardwork and dedicated personnel has become one of the most respected deep foundation companies in the industry. And though he took pride in his professional success, his greatest loves were his wife, Linda, and their daughter, Ashton. He watched, with great pride, as their little girl grew into a woman who achieved each goal she set for herself.
Jim, a man of his word with deep intellect, integrity and a keen sense of humor, lived life on his own terms and relished any opportunity to prank his close friends. Though hard-working hands have come to rest, his larger than life persona and trademark stubbornness will not be forgotten.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents James and Mattie Branch; and grandparents Preston and Mary Hutto, William Branch and Isabell Long. He is survived by wife, Linda; daughter, Ashton; sisters, Debbye Alexander and Cindi; and a myriad of other family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, June 24th at Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA.
In Jim's memory and in lieu of flowers, PLEASE perform an unsolicited act of kindness towards someone less fortunate, as he so often did, throughout his life.
