Emma Julia Davis Weatherly

Funeral Services will be held 1PM Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home-Columbia Road Chapel, with Rev. William F. Harrell and Rev. Brad Whitt officiating. Rev. Archie Moore will be officiating at the graveside. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Maranatha Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Weatherly was a former member of Lake Park Baptist Church. She was a current member of Abilene Baptist Church. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class, studying her Bible, and the Nursery at Church. She loved children, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and reading; and spending time with her family.

She enjoyed working the daily Jumble in the Augusta Chronicle and her grandsons called her “The Queen of the Jumble.” Mrs. Weatherly was in the Christian Women’s Club, was a Sunday School teacher, a Den mother; and was active in many ministries.

Mrs. Weatherly was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Calvin Weatherly, Sr.; four sisters; three brothers; and a son, Barry Lyndon Weatherly. Survivors include children, James “Jimmy” (Connie) Weatherly, Jr. of Ooltewah, TN; Glenda (Archie) Moore of Greenwood, SC; Janice (Tommy) Williams of Augusta, GA; and Penny (Robert) Kearney of Harlem, GA; a daughter-in-law, Caroline Youngblood Weatherly; brothers and sisters, Lillian Ramsey, Ruby Culpepper, Martha Sherman, Dorothy Fussell, and Charles Davis; grandchildren, Kent (Faith) Weatherly, Craig Weatherly, Jennifer (Bryan) Babb and James Moore, III, Julie Moore, Barry Edwards (Melissa) Moore, John Calvin M’Cheyne (Cortney) Moore, Stephen (Hope) Moore, Kevin (Tasha) Williams, Scott (Ashley) Williams, Alyssa (Tim) Hutchens, and Rebecca Hyman; and fifteen great grandchildren.

Mother and our family were blessed by her many wonderful caregivers through Rescare, including her most recent caregivers, Allison Marshall and Janice Herrara, and neighbor, Patsy Urquhart and granddaughter Rebecca. We would like to thank the staff of Odyssey Hospice for their care and help during the past few months.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907.
