Mrs Wanda Marie Hinson

Wanda Marie Hinson, 87, of Westwego, Louisiana was called home to be with our Heavenly Father early in the morning on Sunday, December 25th, 2022. She is preceded in death by her sons Charles and Vernon (Regina) Hinson, sisters Patricia Bennie and Nelda Fellers and brother Robert Rouse. Wanda is survived by her husband Vernon Venoy Hinson Sr of 64 years and son Curtis "Bill" (Renee) Hinson, and sister Norma Jo Shirey. As well her grand children Crista (Hector), Addison, Chelby (Kelsey), Zachary (Claire), and Cody (Cassie) and even her great - grand children Greyson Hope, Owen Hope and Charlotte Hinson.

Wanda was born September 23rd 1935 to Joseph and Beatrice Rouse in Brownwood Texas. She married her husband of 64 years on April 1st 1958.

Wanda was a humble, modest , but strong matriarch. She enjoyed spending her time painting beautiful pieces, playing Dr.Mario on her Nintendo, and was a long time member of The First Baptist Church of Westwego. Wanda had a quick wit and a heart of gold. She had unconditional love for every person she met and a sandwich for them too. She was a member of the Golden Ages senior club and often competed (and gold metaled) in their senior olympics. She touched many hearts with her time on earth and was loved in return. She will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.WestsideLeitzEagan.com for the Hinson family.
