Shirley Scallan Varnado

Shirley Scallan Varnado passed away on Good Friday, March 29, 2013 at the age of 74. She was the beloved wife of Bobby Varnado for the past 55 years and the loving mother of Terrell Varnado (June) and the late Brian Varnado. She was the devoted grandmother of Racheal Varnado Richards (Jimmy), the late Lisa Brianna Crosby and the great-grandmother of Olivia Crosby and Luke Richards. She was the daughter of the late Aaron Scallan and Agnes Mayeaux Scallan as well as the sister of Rose Newman, Jane Villars, Robert Scallan, the late Eugene Scallan, Harold Scallan and Judy Bolfa.

She was the recording secretary for the Bridge City Golden Ager’s Club and for the past 2 years she was the Vice President. Shirley liked to travel and be with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Westside Leitz Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at which time a procession will begin to Restlawn Cemetery for graveside services at 11:00 AM.
