Roy Joseph Mayer, Sr. passed peacefully with his loving family by his side on June 2, 2024. A native of Gueydan, Louisiana and a resident of Avondale, Louisiana for the last 40 years. Father of Sandra Hoeltke (Bo), Roy Mayer, Jr., and Tammy Matherne (Ralph). Step Father of Curtis Arwood (Agnes), Sherry Arwood, Bobby Arwood (Valerie), Teresa Dedeaux (the late Larry), James Arwood, Sr. (Donna), and Darrell Arwood (Nina). He was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen C. Mayer and Step Son Jack Duanne Arwood, Sr. Roy is a retired forklift operator of National Foods Warehouse. He was a member of Teamsters Local Union Number 270. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank his granddaughter, Heather Hoeltke, for caring for him in his last final needs.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 10th, 2024 at Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, Louisiana.
