Ronald "Ron" Broussard passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2024. Ron was married to the love of his life Jeannette Broussard for 26 years. Ron was born on March 5, 1950 in Abbeville. Ron was the oldest of 5 children. Born to the late Louis "Black" Broussard and the late Ella Mae Simon Broussard. He was 74 years old at the time of his death.
Ron is survived by his brothers Teddy Broussard (Patty) of Lafayette, Dean Broussard (Suzette) of Toledo Bend, and his sister Patsy Bourque (Terry) of Abbeville. He is survived by daughter Dana Toni Mendoza (Jesse) of Chalmette. Grandson Draven Norris (Sarah) of Falkville, Alabama. Great grandkids Jackson and Callie Hoover. Preceded in death by his youngest brother Robert "Bobby" Broussard and Granddaughter Leanna Hoover (Joshua). He leaves behind nieces, nephews, grand-nieces grand-nephews, his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Ron was genuinely kind hearted. To know him was to love him. Ron worked for over 36 years in the oil field industry, mostly offshore, for Gulf Oil Corporation, Texaco, and Chevron Production Co. where he retired in 2011. His nickname was the bus driver. He was a field and operations oil coordinator. He was also a first responder. Ron loved being not only a member of THETA Golden Age Club, but he was also the Vice President. He was also a member of the Terrytown Lions Club. He loved vacationing in Maui, Hawaii. He enjoyed helping his family and friends. He will be missed but leaves a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Ronald's Life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
