Richard John Bellanger Sr.

Richard John "BrudLaw" Bellanger Sr., age 78, of Marrero, Louisiana passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. He and his wife Eugenie Bellanger were married for 57 years. He is survived by his son Richard J. Bellanger, Jr. (Ashlie) and his sister Joy Buew (Armand). His loving grandchildren, Justin Fortmayer (Kelly), Jonathan Bellanger Achary (Erin), Jacob Lachute (Hannah) and Celina Bellanger. His great-grandchildren Jade, Cal, Emmie, Ella and Hudson, Greysen. Richard is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish his memory.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Simon and Virginia Bellanger, his daughter Myra Lachute (Scott), his brothers Simon Bellanger, Jr. (Kathy), Charles Bellanger (Millie) and Bob Bellanger.

"Brud Law" enjoyed bass fishing and hanging out at Magnum Outboards with all his buddies. He was a welder at Avondale Shipyard for 25 years and a member of Westbank Bassmaster & Barataria Bassmaster.

A visitation for Richard will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072. A religious ceremony will occur Monday, October 7, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4401 7th St, Marrero, LA 70072.
