He accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Ebenezer and later in life he became a member of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel. Peter met and married the love of his life, Laura Caston on September 11, 1999.
Peter retired as a truck driver with 36 years of service with SAIA Motor Freight. He enjoyed playing pool, watching cowboys and old comedy shows. He was also an avid Saints fan and connoisseur of old music.
He enjoyed keeping his yard manicured. Peter always helped family and friends when called upon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Lula Rose, 4 brothers, Manuel Haskins, Joseph and Vernon Rose and Cornell Morris; 6 sisters, Elaine Dawson, Clarice Wagner, Patricia & Deborah Morris and Addie Rose; Grandfather Smiley Earl, Brothers-in-law, Louis Dawson & Larry Graves.
He leaves to cherish in memory his beloved wife of 25 years, Laura Rose, mother-in-law, Mildred Graves, Brothers-in-law, Manuel Graves (Betty), Ron Gibson (Johnnie), Osborne Holmes (Georgia). Children, Danielle Curry (Alton), Shaun Adams (Kevin), Anthony Mitchell (Linda), Merald Sampson (Chasity), Reginald & Kevin Jefferson and Patrick Brock (Yomika). Sisters, Helen Washington (Leroy), Melvina Hills, Carol Lafayette (Leroy), Eloise Rose, Renell Ballard (Robert), 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 1 godchild, Keiana Arlie. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Peter on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, in Marrero. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM and the committal service will immediately follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna
