Paulette Prejeant Meadows-Thomassie

Paulette Prejeant Meadows-Thomassie, age 76, of Marrero, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, surrounded by various members of her family, including her beloved Bennie, Melissa and Gene.

Beloved companion of Bennie Thomassie Jr. for over 36 years; loving mother of Melissa Lynn Meadows, and the late Craig Paul Collier; step-mother of Troy Nelson Thomassie, Tara Clare "TC" Wilde, and Rachal Elizabeth Thomassie; intended mother-in-law of Gene Lynch Jr.; mother-in-law of Penny Tardiff Thomassie; grandmother of Cerris Thomassie Kent; grandmother-in-law of Philip Kent; great grandmother of Watson Nelson Kent; daughter of the late Andrew J. Prejeant Sr. and Paulette Bourzat Prejeant; sister of the late Andrew J. "Frenchie" Prejeant Jr. (the late Mary). She is also survived by her beloved grand-pup, Jake, as well as other relatives and friends.

She was a 1964 graduate of Immaculata High School. She worked in the optical industry for over 40 years until her retirement in 2018, working for Dr. Errol M. Bloom O.D. and his wife, Charlotte Bloom, at Clear Vision Center in Gretna. Paulette loved bowling, going on cruises with her beloved Bennie, riding in Carnival parades, and spending time with her amazing friends which numbered too many to list. She loved her family dearly, especially her granddaughter, Cerris, and even more so her "little man", Watson. Paulette and Bennie enjoyed attending LSU Football and Baseball games. In the last few years, she has enjoyed spending time with Melissa, Gene, and Jake at their camp in Happy Jack.
