Mary Elaine Victoriano Maise Bonura was called to heaven on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 12:15 PM. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Joseph Bonura for 19 1/2 years. Wife by first marriage of the late Warren J. Maise for 30 years. Mother of Glenn Anthony Maise, Sr., and Lisa Ann Maise. Mother-in-law of Kim Maise. Grandmother of Nicole Bernard (Bryan) and Glenn Maise Jr. (Terrilyn). Three great granddaughters: Allie Marie Bernard, Riley Catherine Maise, and Kenley Marie Maise, as well as two great grandsons: Brody Charles Bernard and Glenn Anthony Maise III. Stepmother of Leonard Bonura (Vicky), Wayne Bonura Sr., (Alice), Karen Bonura Gerrick (Dale), and the late Cindy Bonura. Mary has a host of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She is the daughter of the late Robert James Victoriano and Virginia Schieffler Victoriano. Sister of the late Robert Victoriano (Late Geraldine), the late Leonard Peter Victoriano (RoseMary), and the late Virginia "Vicky" Fazende (Late Larry). Sister in law of Rosemary Pizani Victoriano and sister in law by second marriage of Kenneth Bonura (Late Sharon), Anthony Ted Bonura (Mary Ann), John Bonura (Ruby), and Mary Bonura Crovetta (Fenner). Godmother of Roberta Victoriano Boudlach, Kathy Victoriano LeBlanc and Sandy Fazende Roberts. Hosts of loving and caring nieces and nephews.
A native of Lafitte, Louisiana and a resident of Marrero since 1991. Mary was a member of Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church in Marrero. Member of the Visitation of Our Lady Hospitality ministry, the Lafitte Senior Center,Jefferson Volunteers for Family and Community, Inc., and the State of Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Sassy Seventies social club, the Westbank Homemakers, and the Sunshine Girls.
Mary Elaine worked as a school secretary for 30 years for the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Mary worked as a secretary for the original Lafitte Elementary from 1976 until it's closing in 1987 under the supervision of Lois B. Martin, Principal, and Clothilde Cobert, Principal; Westwego Elementary from 1987-1997 where she worked under the supervision of Claire Loch, Principal; and she worked at Fisher High School as a High School Secretary from 1997 to her Retirement in 2006, under the supervision of Mr. Arthur Majorie, Principal and George Hebert, Jr., Principal. She was also a Mary Kay Consultant from 1990 until her death. She was member of the Rags to Riches Unit. Mary has worked as an office manager at Chick-fil-A Harvey from 2015 until 2018, where she worked for Fernando and Heather Ruiz, owners. Mary was a very active person, full of energy, and she loved life, until her death. She will be sadly missed by all of her friends.
Everyone is invited to attend the funeral services from Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church in Marrero. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Interment in St. Pius X Mausoleum in Crown Point, LA.
