Maria Fletes Marroquin

Maria Eugenia Fletes Marroquin passed away at the age of 64. She was the beloved wife of Leonardo Marroquin for 42 years. Mother of Rene Marroquin and Daniel Marroquin. Grandmother of Jade Marroquin and Roni Marroquin. Daughter of Luisa Fletes and the late Alejandro Fletes. Sister of the Violet Sanchez, Alejandro Fletes, Ruth Fletes, Ricardo Fletes, and the late Jaime Fletes. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

She was born in Managua, Nicaragua and immigrated to the United States in 1972 at 12 years old. She grew up in the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans where she attended St. Alphonsus School, Redemptorist High School. She was a graduate of Warren Easton High School and was employed by Jefferson Parish School Board. She was a resident of Harvey for 41 years. What she enjoyed most was cooking, dancing, and laughing with her family. She was a great wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial visitation on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4401 7th St. in Marrero. The Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 AM, immediately followed by the committal service at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
