Joseph Anthony Gonzales, Sr.

Joseph Anthony Gonzales, Sr. passed away on August 27, 2023 at the age of 75. He was born on May 22, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Ernest Joseph Gonzales. Sr. and Mildred Kay Prattini. Loving father of Terri Gonzales, Shelly Bowers (Mike), Joseph Gonzales, Jr., Patience Gambino (Mike, Sr.), Jason Gonzales (Raynell) and David Gonzales. Proud grandfather of Heather (Ricky), Willie (Nichole), Dennis (Holly), Jade (CJ), Brian (Dominique), Jennifer (Dillian), Brandon, Brendon (Alexis), Joey (Dom), Aliah, Joseph, III, Destiny (Jonathan), Ashley (Justin), Michael, Jr. (Patricia), Bella, Hailey, Sadie and the late Benvenuti Twins and 34 great-grandchildren. Brother of the late E.J. Gonzales (Cindy) and Margaret Giroux (Joe). Joseph was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear friend Vivian.

Joseph was a cab driver for many years and was proud of being published author as well. He loved to make people laugh, taking care of stray cats and would help anyone that needed it but most of all he loved his family.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, September, 16, 2023 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Ave, in Gretna. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM and burial will be held at a later date.
