Jack Robards Crais, age 85, of Luling, Louisiana passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Alvin and Alma Crais. He was married to Marilyn Smith Crais for over 60 years. Brother of Donald R. Crais, Robert R. Crais, and the late Kelly R. Crais. Brother In Law of George H. Smith II. Jack is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends that will miss him dearly.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was also a graduate of Tulane University. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a Ensign in the university's ROTC program. He was then transferred to San Diego, California on a Navy destroyer ship to finish his obligation. When Jack returned to New Orleans, he attended Loyola University where he obtained a law degree by taking night classes. Jack then pursued his lifelong career as an Attorney. Jack also dedicated 44 years of his time to the Luling Volunteer Fire Department, where he wore many hats and took on several tasks.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel.
