Betty S. Camardelle was born on February 2, 1937 in Marrero, Louisiana where she was a lifelong resident. She passed into eternal life surrounded by family on September 25, 2024 at the age of 87 at Ochsner Hospital-Main Campus due to complications of heart failure.
Betty was the daughter of Wilfred and Sidonia Simoneaux. She was survived by her husband, Carl Vercher, her son Michael Camardelle and special friend Donna Carroll, her sister Mary Eve Jones and two sisters-in-law, Joycelyn Chauvin and Lula Mae Simoneaux.
Betty is survived by step-grandchildren Misty and Shannon, step great-grandchildren Jeremy, Marissa, Kaitlyn, Vincent, Madison, Courtney and James. She had six great great-grandchildren. Betty also has numerous nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Jeffrey Camardelle, her brothers Lester Simoneaux (Belle), Roselus Simoneaux (Joyce), Ira Simoneaux (Daisy), Wilfred Simoneaux, Jr., and Nolan Simoneaux, her sisters Lula May Collura (Mike) and Lelia Volpi (Anthony) and her stepdaughter Thea Hogan.
Betty worked for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, Ochsner Hospital and Jefferson Parish School Board in the print shop.
She was a member of Nicholson Senior Center in Marrero, Louisiana and Jefferson Volunteers for Family and Community (HHH). She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where served as a Eucharistic Minister.

To honor her memory a visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 146 4th Street, Westwego, LA 70094. A church service will begin at 1:00PM.
