Anthony "A.J." Joseph Licciardi III, age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Algiers, Louisiana and was a long time resident of Marrero, Louisiana born to the late Anthony Joseph Licciardi, Jr. and Vernel Victoriano Licciardi. Loving husband of Gayle Toups Licciardi for 41 years. Devoted father of Jason Edward Licciardi, Kristen Leigh Licciardi (JJ Michel), and Loren Lynne Licciardi (Jason Kleinpeter). Loving Grandfather of Collin Anthony Doming, Jaxon James Michel, Jake Ryan Michel, Keira Jade Arwood, and Adalynn Grace Licciardi. Brother of the late Merlin Thomas Licciardi (the late Susan). Uncle of Tina Licciardi Letulle (Leon) and Rachel Licciardi Parker (Randy). He is also survived by other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
A.J. had many hobbies that included woodworking, hunting, and fishing. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving his country in the United States Army. A.J. began his career at Southern Pacific Railroad and later retired from Union Pacific Railroad after over 40 years of dedicated work as a freight carman.
A Catholic funeral service will be held at 12:30PM on Monday, April 11th, 2022 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 10:30AM and continue until the service time. Interment will follow the service at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana.
