Alan Joseph Cheramie Sr.

He was the beloved husband of Elaine Daigle Cheramie for 60 years. Loving father of Michele Morales (Mike) and Alan Cheramie Jr. (Vada). Proud grandfather of Lauren Martin (Matt), Chase Cheramie (Tori), Kory Morales (Amber) and Amy Perrin (Mylan). Adored great-grandfather of Mia, Ava, Madden, Charley, Levi, Karsyn, Adley, Kora and Wrenley. Son of the late Lawrence F. "Rabbit" Cheramie Sr. and Elvera Agoff Cheramie. Brother of the late Wayne Cheramie Sr. (Patsy). He is survived by his brother Lawrence F. "L.C." Cheramie Jr. (Nita). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A life-long resident of Lafitte, Louisiana, Alan spent most of his life on the water as captain of many commercial fishing vessels. He loved horse racing and enjoyed spending time at the Fairgrounds with friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice for their compassion and time given to Alan in his time of need.

A Visitation for Alan will be held at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 beginning at 9:00AM. Mass will be held following the Visitation at 11:00AM. Alan will be laid to rest at St. Pius X Cemetery in Crown Point, Louisiana.
