Ronnie Joe McBride, 62, of Marlin passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 after a very courageous battle with cancer. Ronnie was born March 24, 1960 in Sugarland, Texas to Fredrick Bruce and Mary Andrews McBride. Mr. McBride was a long-time resident of Falls County, attending school in Marlin. He was always seeking an adventure and spent a period of time in both California and Wisconsin for work, but the Texas boy always found his way back home close to family.
Ronnie was happiest when fixing things and found joy in owning his own mechanic shop in Marlin—Marlin Machine and Repair, where he primarily worked on semi-trucks, heavy duty trucks, and heavy equipment. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Mary McBride and his brothers, Larry Jack McBride, Leland “Tommy” McBride, and Raymond “Buster” McBride. Ronnie is survived by his close friend and love of his life, Lisa Ling Steinke, who has also been his constant companion and caregiver during his illness. In addition, he is survived by his brothers Charlie McBride and wife Donna of Needville, Johnny McBride and wife Mima of Lipan, Frederick “J.R.” McBride of Reagan, and sisters Nina Williams of Reagan, and Mary Lou Henning and husband Tom of Crowley, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and close friends. A funeral service for Ronnie will be held Monday, October 10, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Adams Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin.
Pallbearers are David McBride, Donnie Pendleton, Tim Grams, Alden Guntle, Richard Young and Lucas Roberson.
