Dubert Bryan Mathis

Dubert Bryan Mathis, age 66 passed away peacefully in the arms of his family, on Saturday May 6, 2023. Bryan was born on July 23, 1956, to Dubert Lee Mathis, and Myrna Joyce Mathis of Waco. He was a 1974 graduate of Lanier High School in Austin.

In 1981 Bryan met, and married his best friend, and loving wife of 42 years Theresa Mathis. He worked in the commercial refrigeration industry his entire adult life. He retired from Norfoxx Refrigeration where he was Service Manager of Dallas.

Bryan's favorite hobby was boating, and being at the lake with his friends, and family. He also enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers play. He delighted in taking his children, and grandchildren to baseball games. Bryan always had on his favorite Converse sneakers, and in his honor, we invite you to wear your own to the celebration of his life.

Bryan left behind his wife Theresa Mathis, his children Laura Antoinette (Brian) Geck, Cody Lee (Crystal) Mathis and Victoria Jean Mathis. His Mother, Joyce Mathis, and Sister Deborah (Brink) Cobb. He is preceded in death by his father Dubert Lee Mathis. He will be deeply missed by his five grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday May 10, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church, 5783 W. Lake Creek Road, Riesel, Texas 76682. Service beginning at 12:00 PM. Dubert will be laid to rest in New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Riesel, Texas.
