Samuel Ray Lowery

He was born May 25, 1936 in McDowell County, NC to the late Floyd Milton Lowery and Sarah Jane Lowery. Mr. Lowery was a veteran of the US Army and worked as a Carpenter by trade. He was a bluegrass music fanatic.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sons, Richard Milton Lowery and David Allen Lowery; one daughter, Margaret Victoria Walker; and one sister, JoAnn Dalton.

Surviving Mr. Lowery are two sons, Johnny Lowery, Sr. and wife, Regina and Tony Lowery and wife, Donna all of Rutherford County, NC; four daughters, Tammy Williams and husband, Bert, Paula Lowery, Mary Jones and Samantha Lowery all of McDowell County; one brother, Edward Lowery and wife, Mary of Hartwell, GA; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Biddix Cemetery on Pepper’s Creek Rd. with Pastor Bert Williams officiating.
