Bob was preceeded in death by his wife, Winford Helen Hurley Ollis, and his daughter Kathryn Grace Ollis, as well as parents, Bertha and Brown, and siblings Alberta, Ray and Luedella. Bob is survived by son Robert Julian Ollis, Jr. and wife Jennifer, daughter Rebecca Ollis Bannister and husband, Ian; siblings, Lois, Brownelle, Grace, Jean and Gene, and Joe and Glenna, as well as eight grandchildren: Kristi, Brittany, Katie, Cierra, Hannah, Josh, Owen, and Aidan, and several great grandchildren.
Bob was a family-oriented man who enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, sports, and bowling. He was most passionate about his service to the Lord Jesus by teaching Sunday School, singing in the church choir, and serving as a Deacon in the Baptist Church. Bob spent his professional years working his way up at Butler Shoes International to eventually, oversee the warehouse facility in Marietta, GA and maintenance administration of their national stores. In Bob’s retirement years, his love of music led him to be an Elvis Presley Impersonation Artist where he brought joy and nostalgia to the Senior population of his small town in Newland, NC, and his extended family.
Bob was a kind and creative man whose charisma and care brought enrichment to his family and community. Bob believed in family. In lieu of flowers please donate to those in your family, or others in need.
