Robert (Bob/Rob) Keating, age 74, passed away July 17, 2019 due to complications of Alzheimer’s. Robert was born and raised in New York. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and Iona College in 1967 where he played football and graduated with an undergraduate degree in English. Robert went on to receive his Masters in Social Work at NYU in 1969.
Robert has gone on to find his eternal peace. He had an incredible uplifting positive spirit that was infectious. He found joy in making others feel good about themselves whether they were a stranger or someone he had known for years. If you needed help of any kind he would be the first to jump in to assist. He was an avid tennis player who loved to paint, travel and spend endless hours outside whether he was kayaking, canoeing, hiking, riding his bike or just doting on his Koi pond. He leaves behind many who love him but his spirit, legacy and bad jokes will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Maria Keating and parents William and Marie Keating.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Keating Norton, step-son Chris Miller, grandchildren, Ava and Ella Norton, brothers, William “Bill” (Judy) Keating and Dennis (Renee) Keating, nieces and nephews and many others who loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, July 31, 2019, 6:30 - 9:00 PM in the club house at Chatsworth Subdivision, 4456 Derwent Drive, Roswell, GA 30075
