Robert Myers Higginbotham, 61, passed away Friday night February 21, 2020 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. Rob was an identical twin and was born on September 11, 1958. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina where he received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Rob was an entrepreneur and founded his own luggage company in 1987 which he proudly named after both of his children. He built Claire Chase from the ground up into a very successful business which is still thriving to this day. He was a loving father and a spectacular grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Don Higginbotham and Mary Emma Stone Higginbotham. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Claire (Cody) Smith and son, Chase Robert Higginbotham; his twin brother Lawrence Higginbotham and brother David Higginbotham; his step sisters, Hilary Phillips and Christina Martin; his two grandchildren, Andrea Higginbotham and Reid Smith; and his step mother, Kathy Higginbotham.
