Mrs. Mary Flick, 83 of Marietta passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011. Mary was born in 1928 in Dayton, Ohio; then, in 1935 her family moved to Miami, Florida where she spent most of her life. She moved to Orlando, Florida in 1988 to help care for her mother, who later died in 1990. She enjoyed her time there with her sisters and their immediate families. In 2005, Mary relocated to Marietta, Georgia to be closer to her children and their families. She was a devoted great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Mary was very artistic and received awards for her fabric paintings. Over the years Mary did volunteer work at her church, her local library, senior centers and other areas. Her fun-loving personality and sense of humor have provided wonderful memories for many. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta. Mary is survived by her children: Kenneth Flick and wife Roxanna; James Flick and wife Beth; Vincent Flick; Rosemarie Flick Thiele and husband William; and Christopher Flick and wife Bunny; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a 4th great-grandchild is on the way. A memorial mass, preceded by the rosary, will be held in Mary’s honor at 6:30pm, Monday, June 27th, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta (3401 Lower Roswell Road – Marietta, GA – 30068).
