Marie Quinn Garrity

Marie Quinn Garrity, 71 of Marietta passed away at her home on October 30, 2010 surrounded by family. She was born on February 16, 1939 in Madison, NJ, the daughter of the late Marie Cahill Quinn and Francis Quinn. Marie attended Oak Knoll School in Summit, NJ and graduated as an RN from St. Peter’s Nursing School in 1960.She worked for several years at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Marie was an active member of the Catholic Church of St. Ann for 22 years, the St. Ann’s scripture group and Meals on Wheels. She married Leo C. Garrity on October 1, 1960. Marie was a wonderful mother and wife who devoted her life to her faith and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo C. Garrity; brothers, Frances S. Quinn and Joseph D. Quinn. Survivors include her daughters, Lisa A. Garrity of Morristown, NJ ; Marie E. Garrity, MD and her husband Price I. Chenault of Sandy Springs, GA; sons, Leo C. Garrity, Jr. and his wife Kathleen K. Garrity of Alpharetta, GA, Brendan Q. Garrity and his wife Kathy M. Garrity of Canton, GA; brother, Bernard J. Quinn and his wife Katherine C. Quinn of Florham Park, NJ; grandchildren, Sean Garrity, Evan Welch, Kevin Garrity, Leo Garrity, Meredith Garrity and Kaelan Garrity. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
