Born on August 5th, 1947, Lawrence (Larry) Scollan lived a long full life of 77 years. He was the brother of Lorraine and Joe Scollan, the father of Jim, Michelle and Kirk and the loving and devoted husband to Kathy Scollan. Larry’s outgoing and infectious personality allowed him to touch the heart and souls of almost everyone he encountered. All of those souls that he touched are now grieving at his peaceful passing in his sleep in the early morning of March 24th, 2025.
Larry was born in Queens, New York, probably already making friends with the nurses and doctors. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy where he diligently fixed aircraft, and then continued his trade at Grumman Aerospace in Long Island New York. His calling in life was sales, his witty personality and ability to read people allowed him to excel in his field. He forged long lasting friendships as he sold flooring as well as computers. These friendships were extremely important to him even to the very last day.
Later in life, Larry finally became known as Grandpa to which he was immensely happy. The addition of Eli and Carter to his life was one of the happiest parts of his life. The joy he got from watching his grandsons grow and play was evident even for the casual observer.
Larry is survived by his wife Kathy Scollan, his sons Kirk Tsouros and Jim Scollan, his daughter Michelle Scollan. His sister Lorraine Scollan. His daughter-in-law Patti Scollan. His grandsons Elias and Carter Scollan. He was preceded in death by his Joe, his brother. James, his father and Elizabeth, his mother.
The wake for Larry Scollan will be held on Monday March 31st from 5pm-8pm at H.M. Patterson & Son- Canton Hill Chapel- 1157 Old Canton Rd. Marietta GA 30068 (All are welcome).
There will be a service on Tuesday April 1st at 11am at H.M. Patterson & Son, followed by the burial at Georgia National Cemetery at 2pm- 2025 Mount Carmel Church Ln, Canton GA.
