Herbert was born in Houma, La. on March 12, 1949, and was the son of Clifford Blanchard and Thelma Cancienne Blanchard. A resident of Marietta, Ga, since 2019. Herbert is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dianne Arcemont Blanchard. They had four children; Deidre (Anthony) Buttram of Dawsonville, Ga., Brett (Simone) Blanchard of Mt. Airy, Md., Lucia (Randy) Clements of Senoia, Ga. and Rose (Doug) Evans of Dallas, Ga.; and two grandsons, Ren Buttram and DJ Evans and three granddaughters, Ariel Buttram, Sophia Blanchard and Trinity Clements. Herbert is survived by his sister, Genevive Spahr of Scottsdale, Az. and Herman (Anita) Blanchard of Prairieville, La. Herbert is preceded in death by his brother Ellis Blanchard.
Herbert worked for BellSouth in Louisiana and Georgia and retired in 2007 after 31 years of service. His hobbies were woodworking and enjoyed bird watching and vegetable gardening. Herbert loved his Catholic Faith, especially a devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. He studied and lead prayer cenacles on how to Live the Divine Will of God in your life by giving of your will to be fused with the Trinity’s Divine Will.
The family will welcome friends at a viewing to be held on at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, Ga. 30060 on Friday February 18, 2022, from 5:00PM – 8:00PM. Recitation of the Rosary will take place at 6:30PM. Herbert has chosen to be cremated and the interment will be held at an undetermined date for family members only.
A funeral Mass will be held on at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 680 W Memorial Drive, Dallas, Ga. 30122 on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 1:00PM.
