Florence Wheeler of Mableton left this earth to be with her lord on October 5, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Lowell Wheeler. Florence retired after many years from the Arrow Shirt Company where she worked as a seamstress. She found great comfort, joy and fellowship at her church home, Mableton Assembly of God. Even though her house was small, it was always full of kids, grandkids, home cooking and love. Florence's holiday family gatherings were seldom, if ever, missed by anyone. All of the grand children's fondest memories are the times they spent at their Granny's house. She is survived by her daughter, Vivie Newsome, and sons, Kevin Wheeler (Louise) and Edwin (Cindi) Wheeler. She was a loving and cherished "Granny" to 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, at 2:00 PM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Randy Scalise officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, 12:00 - 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
