Florence Maria Johnson, age 78, of Marietta, Georgia peacefully passed away on Monday, February 25th, 2019. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1940 to Frances and Vincent Anzelmo. Florence attended Louisiana State University and earned her degree in Primary Montessori from the Association Montessori Internationale Organization.
She is the beloved founder of Casa Montessori School in Marietta where hundreds of children discovered their passion for learning. She has touched the lives of the Montessori community in Georgia and world-wide.
Florence leaves behind her soul mate, Tom; a marriage of 58 years; her son, Tom Vincent Johnson, daughter, Suzanne Maria Johnson, and three grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, William Johnson, and Aidan Lecroy.
Services for Florence will be held this Saturday, March 2, 2019 at H.M. Patterson & Son - Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road, in Marietta. The family will receive guests for Visitation from 9:00am till 11:00am with the Celebration of Life Service following at 11:00am. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 4, 2019, at 11:00am at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations can be made to the Florence Johnson Scholarship Fund at Casa Montessori Foundation.
