Brian Marquis Wade of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, died October 6th, in Atlanta at the age of 40. Brian was the eldest son of Benjamin C. Wade III and Betsy Marquis Wade. Born and raised in St. Louis and later Atlanta, Brian graduated in 2003 from Wake Forest University.
He forged a successful and rewarding real estate career in South Carolina, where he lived on the waters of Lake Wylie with his beloved family. Brian found peace in the outdoors and dreamed of hiking the Appalachian Trail. As a child, he made some of his fondest memories hiking and camping with his brother and best friend, Peter.
Brian was a voracious reader and a talented writer, and he was always ready to debate or pontificate about something fascinating. Many who knew him agree, “Brian didn’t always speak a lot, but when he did, you listened.” Brian was an exceedingly thoughtful and loyal man. He was a devoted son, brother and husband, and his love for his children — the lights of his life — will prevail forever.
He is survived by his mother Betsy, brother Peter, three children Will, Charlie and Alice Wade, and Elizabeth Thornton Wade. He is welcomed into heaven by his father Ben and his grandparents Jack and Jane Marquis.
A memorial service will be held on December 4th, 2021, at 11 a.m. at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel in Marietta, GA. 30068. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian’s honor to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
