Behzad Compani-Tabrizi, 77, died April 20, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1946, to Akbar and Fatemeh Compani-Tabrizi. As a young man, Behzad earned his B.A. in Economics, and was the captain of the Iranian Youth Soccer Team. In America, he earned his Master of Accountancy at Western Illinois University. He worked for many years at Lockheed Martin in Iran and America, before establishing his CPA firm in Marietta.
In his later years, Behzad was an avid gardener, a prolific painter, passionate soccer fan, worked tirelessly in service to the Iranian community in Atlanta, and for those who were less fortunate. Behzad was a kind, welcoming, selfless, and vibrant soul who was eternally devoted to his family.
Behzad was preceded in death by his parents, Akbar and Fatemeh Compani-Tabrizi, and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Soheyla Compani; daughter Leyla Compani (Nathan Branscome); son Mehrdad Compani-Tabrizi (Christina); and his granddaughter, Nika, who was the delight of his life. He is survived by his siblings Behrooz, Behtaz, and Behnaz (Kaveh Maleknia), as well as many nieces and nephews, a grand-stepson, Godson and extended family.
