Alan Scott Hunter, 51, of Marietta, GA, passed away, after a prolonged illness, November 30, 2015. He was born July 21, 1964 to the late William Alan Hunter and Dairlene Chastain Hunter. He was a devoted husband to wife, Sheryl Powell Hunter, by whom he is survived. Survivors also include his mother, Dairlene “Dee” Chastain Hunter; brother, Richard Patrick Hunter; sisters, brothers’-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Marietta, GA. He attended school in Douglas County and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Civil (Structural) Engineering. He owned and operated Atlanta Structural Metro Atlanta Property Management. He enjoyed travel, fishing tournaments, poker and Harley Davidson motorcycles. A funeral service will be held at 12 o’clock noon on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at H.M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill, 1157 Old Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30068. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sandy Springs Historic Cemetery, 85 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
