Robin K. Schmidt

Marengo—Robin K. Schmidt, 46, of Whiting, Indiana and formerly of Marengo passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at her home.

She was born June 24, 1965 in Belvidere to Arnold and Karen (Wolf) Schmidt.

She graduated from Marengo High School in 1983. She worked for many years at Hubbs Greenhouse until her graduation from the College of St. Francis in Joliet in 1987. She has worked as a comptroller for TRADEBE in East Chicago, Indiana for many years. She was a die-hard Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fan, as well as Nascar, or more specifically Jeff Gordon.

She is survived by her father, Arnold (Susan) Schmidt; her siblings, Margie Schmidt, Cindy (Dan) Kowalik, Robert (Tammy) Schmidt, and Melissa Schmidt; step-siblings, Kip Koch, Paul Koch, Kelly (Mike) Kunz, and Terry (Megan) Koch; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Tony, Jonathan, Justin, Matthew, Breanna, and Lawson; a great-niece, Janae; special cousins, Mary Anna, Mary Jean, Pat, and Nancy; many step-nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen; her grandparents, Margaret and George Wolf, and William and Marjorie Schmidt; and a niece, Skylar.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6pm on Sunday, December 4, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. Visitation will continue from 9:00am to the 10am prayers on Monday December 5, at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
