

Lyle F. Walter, 71, of Marengo died Friday, January 10, 2014 at home. He was born August 30, 1942 in Mauston, Wisconsin to Clifford and Vera (Sonneberg) Walter. On June 22, 1963, he married Judy Kulikowski in Mautson. He worked for Chrystler Corp. in Belvidere for 22 years and spent most of his life farming.
Lyle collected and restored 1/16 scale farm tractors and implements. He enjoyed truck and tractor pulling , snowmobile racing with his children, camping and the many motorcycle trips with his wife. He was a co-founder of a farm toy club and particated in parades in Illinois and southern Wisconsin for many years.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, his family was most important to him.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Judy; children Curt Walter, Terri Jo O’Donnell; grandchildren Ashley O’Donnell, Michael O’Donnell, Garrett Walter, Miranda Walter; great-granddaughter Aubri O’Donnell; siblings Edith Burkhalter, LeRoy Walter, Bonnie (Edward) Hooker, Byron Walter, many sisters and brothers in-law, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Yvonne Walter and Bernadine Vodak, son-in-law Tony O’Donnell.
Visitation will be from 2pm until the 6 pm service on Mon, Jan. 13 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy. Marengo. Cremation rites to follow.
