Charles Hudson Pittman

Chip was born to Bill and Kaye Pittman in Lancaster, PA. He was a graduate of Old Fort High School in Ohio. Soon after High School he enlisted in the Navy and served 10 years active duty as a machinist mate and recruiter and 10 years in the Reserves He was Honorably Discharged having reached the rank of Chief Petty officer. His active duty included more than 4 years at sea with tours that included the Persian Gulf. He also served in Holy Loch-Site 1 submarine base in Scotland. During his services in the Navy, Chip earned several awards, commendations and achievement medals.

Chip married Melissa on November 6, 2002 on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii. During their 27+ years together Chip and Melissa started several successful small businesses. While in Rochester, they started Fitness Tech, a service repair company which then led to creation of Resolution Fitness providing retail and commercial sales of fitness equipment. In 2015,Chip and Melissa left Rochester to begin one of their biggest adventures by sailing their boat Red Sky from Rochester, NY landing in Marco Island, FL in January 2016. On Marco Island, Chip and Melissa started Marco Island Services, a home inspection and home watch services where Chip inspected almost 1,000 homes. Chip and Melissa lived to serve their clients, most of whom became lifelong friends. They travelled the world together, enjoying cruises and loved welcoming friends and family to their home.

Chip was known for his sense of humor and pulling pranks on family and friends. He used his knowledge and life experience to help solve problems for those in need. He loved adventure and challenges as proven by earning his pilot’s license and US Coast Guard Captain’s license which he used to further his passion of sailing. He took on his last challenge of fighting cancer with the same determination and through it all never lost the love of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Chip was predeceased by Bailey his beloved dog of 16 years and is survived by his wife Melissa, his daughter Daron, grandchildren, Westley, Zeke and Grey, and siblings Debi, Cheryl and Jim.
