Robert Moore Brown

MARBLEHEAD – Robert Moore Brown, 68, of Marblehead passed away on August 7, 2024 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Elzunia Syska with whom he shared 16 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, MA he was the son of the late John Marshall Brown and Frances Eleanor (Moore) Brown.

He was the devoted father of Robert Anderson Brown and his wife Annie of Riverside, RI and Philip Moore Brown of Miami Beach, FL; the step-father of Daniel Garrett Swanson and his wife, Rachel of Marblehead, the dear brother of Susan Carroll and her husband Rick of University Park, FL and Richard Brown and his wife Tina of Moneta, VA. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

He was raised and educated in Lynnfield and graduated from Lynnfield High School with the class of 1973 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont in 1977. He raised his family in Hamilton, MA and most recently worked as a luxury villa consultant for many years until his retirement.

He enjoyed sailing, basketball at the Hamilton Rec Center, golf, his garden, his loyal canine companion Cali, and especially spending time with his grandchildren Aldo, Ryan, and Suki. His quick wit, smile, and ability to make everyone laugh will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Robert M. Brown to support cancer research and patient care via dana-farber.org/gift.
