MARBLEHEAD - Patricia Macaulay, age 79, a resident of Marblehead for 53 years in the same house in the historic district, died on August 14th at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She suffered a massive brain tumor and did not make it past post operative complications. She died peacefully.
Mrs. Macaulay was born in Minneapolis and raised in Chicago. She graduated from Mundelein College, of Loyola University and launched into a career as a teacher at the Robert Burns School in Chicago. There she met her future husband Donald and joined him in his business transfer to Boston. They settled in Marblehead and raised two sons, Angus and Andrew. In addition to her husband and the boys she leaves behind a brother Richard, two daughter-in-laws Alysia and Jennifer, and five grandchildren, Gus, Winnie, Duffy, Alexander and Chloe.
Pat continued her love of teaching and children working at the JCC of the NorthShore.
A service in honor of Pat will be held at St. Michaels Episcopal Church Marblehead, August 23 at 3:15 followed by a reception of remembrance and joy at the Boston Yacht Club.
