MARBLEHEAD – Carol Marie (Cuffe) Davis, 72, of Marblehead, formerly a longtime resident of Pleasanton, California and Marblehead, passed away on August 12, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Wayne S. Davis of Marblehead with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Catherwood) Cuffe. She was the devoted mother of the late Christopher Davis; the loving sister of Peter Cuffe and his wife, Lisa of Marblehead, the cherished aunt of their children, Mary and Sarah Cuffe of Marblehead; and the dear sister-in-law of Tracey Price and her husband Rich of Haverhill. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as several close friends including the remaining of the “seven sisters” in Pleasanton, California.
Carol was a graduate of Marblehead High School with the class of 1967. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education at Iowa State University and taught primary school students in Marblehead for over 5 years and then for over 25 years at St. Michael Parochial School in Livermore, CA. Carol enjoyed spending time with Wayne and Christopher, her family and all of her dear friends. She particularly enjoyed all of the special trips she went on with Wayne and Christopher, including to Hawaii, Australia and Europe. Known as a warm, caring and compassionate friend, she will be missed by all that knew her.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street. Due to recent CDC guidance and concerns, masks and appropriate social distancing are required. Her funeral service will be private.
