Eileen Joyce (Wade) Smith was born May 27, 1949 to Emma and W.B. Wade in San Antonio, Texas. She transitioned into the presence of her eternal home with Jesus Christ and many loved ones on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Eileen was a devoted wife of 55 years to WT, mother to her 3 daughters, Wendy, Brandi & Julie, and friend to so many. Before she retired, she served many years as the Children’s Librarian at the Marble Falls Public Library where she enjoyed two of her passions: teaching children and reading. She also served in children’s church and youth groups with her various church families over the years. She loved Jesus and walked the example of His love and joy to others. Eileen loved a good mystery, too. From working alongside her husband in his private investigation firm, to watching “Murder She Wrote,” “Perry Mason,” and “Monk,” to reading mystery novels, she loved to figure it all out. She was fun-loving and thoughtful, keeping packs and packs of greeting cards and gifts to send others “just because”. If you knew her, you loved her.
Eileen is preceded in death by her father, W.B. Wade, mother, Emma Wade, and sister, Elaine Hansen. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, W.T. Smith; daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Wendy & Stacy Flynn of Willis, TX, Brandi & Matt Banks (Atticus, Hazel, Eloise, and Birdie) of San Marcos, TX, and Julie & Brent Davis (Jeremy, Jarrod, Beau, and Casey) of Bixby, OK; sister-in-law, Shirley Myers; nieces and nephew, Dannielle Everett, Penny McCarty, Debbie Sue Young, Diane Dyer, Robin Myers, Robbi Lauden, and Ronnie Glover; as well as many beloved friends who might as well be family.
Visitation will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, TX on Friday, July 19 from 6-8pm. A celebration of life will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20 at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of her passions - Wounded Warriors, Friends of the Marble Falls Library, or consider contributing to the American Diabetes Association. Several companies will match donations to these organizations.
The family is very grateful for the support of family and friends over the last year, and they rejoice in the hope of their future reunion.
