Billie Jean Meeks Blankenship, 90, of Marble Falls, Texas, (formerly of Austin, Texas) passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Billie was born on August 25, 1929, in Chidester, Arkansas to Clarence and Emma Meeks. Billie grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, along with her two older sisters, Mary Meeks Taylor and Polly Meeks McCollum who predeceased her. Billie was the baby of the family and loved her older sisters so dearly.
Billie married George Warren Blankenship, Jr., on December 18, 1953, and together they raised five children. They were married 63 years until George passed away in March 2017. Billie is survived by five children; Wayne Manuel and his wife Patricia, Dale Manuel, Kenneth Blankenship, Cynthia Blankenship Taylor and her husband Guy, and Rebecca Blankenship Sweet and her husband, Jim. She also leaves behind to grieve her passing 16 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Billie was a sweet, kind, loving soul and above all else, a woman of great faith. Her trust was in the Lord. One of her favorite past times was reading and studying the Bible. She loved her family immensely and unselfishly put the needs of her husband and children over her own. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends may call on the family at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas, on Monday, January 6, from 10 AM until noon. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM that afternoon at the Oatmeal Cemetery near Oatmeal, Texas.
